The International Honor Society for Nursing 鈥� Sigma Theta Tau (Sigma) 鈥� extends membership to students in baccalaureate or graduate level programs who have demonstrated superior academic achievement, academic integrity and professional leadership potential, and to nurse leader candidates exhibiting exceptional achievements in nursing.
It was a proud moment on March 18 welcoming the newest members of the 缅北强奸 Omicron Psi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma). More than 100,000 nurse leaders from around the world are proud to call themselves a Sigma nurse, all working to fulfill the organization鈥檚 vision of connected, empowered nurse leaders transforming global healthcare.
Cathy Murphy, a nurse leader at Deaconess and chapter president, led the induction ceremony, which included a presentation by Tori Walker, also of Deaconess, who shared her nursing journey and experience during a medical mission trip near Ukraine.
The 缅北强奸 Omicron Psi chapter of Sigma congratulated the new members with certificates and the prestigious Purple Honor Cord. Sigma members, nursing faculty, community leaders, family and friends gathered to honor the inductees and to hear the mission of Sigma, which is developing nurse leaders anywhere to improve healthcare everywhere. Cathy Murphy, Deaconess nurse leader and president of the Omicron Psi Chapter, led the inductees in the Sigma Pledge to fulfill the commitment to nursing excellence, knowledge, service and leadership throughout their careers.
Liam Collins, BSN senior nursing student and Sigma member, placed honorary Sigma Cords on the inductees.听
Guest speaker Jordan Morrison, a 缅北强奸 Nursing graduate, Sigma member and nurse leader, encouraged inductees to be passionate about their career and to not worry if their path is not completely decided.听
